City Of Redondo Beach is Hiring a Code Enforcement Officer Part-Time Near Redondo, CA
DEFINITION

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS
- Locates and investigates reported violations of land use and building regulations
- Implements directions from superiors that are provided orally and/or in writing
- Reports orally and/or in writing to superiors regarding safety and health concerns encountered while performing required duties
- Operates motor vehicle while conducting inspections pertaining to building and property maintenance, storage, public nuisances, occupancy standards, zoning regulations, and business license conditions
- Issues citations or prepares criminal complaints
- Impounds vehicles
- Maintains records of investigations and inspections
- Prepares routine correspondence and reports
- Coordinates assigned duties with other departments
- Takes photographs
- Reads plans and blueprints
- Testifies in court
- Responds to inquiries over the telephone, or in person regarding local codes and ordinances
- Performs other related duties as required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Vehicle Code of the State of California; correct English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation; business letter writing and forms; filing and indexing.
Satisfactorily perform required duties; read, speak, write and understand the English language; work weekends, holidays and/or overtime if needed; adhere to applicable terms and conditions of employment including but not limited to safety and health regulations, labor agreements, City rules and regulations, policies and procedures; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Any combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge and ability necessary to perform required duties.
Possession of a valid Class "C" California Driver License is a condition of employment for those appointed to this class. Penal Code 832 certification is desirable.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
The selection process may include but is not limited to: Application review and evaluation, written examination, performance test and interview. All employment offers made by the City are contingent upon establishing proof of a prospective candidate's legal authorization to work in the United States and successfully passing all components of the pre-employment process, such as: reference check, background investigation, fingerprint criminal history check, post-offer drug test, post-offer psychological and post-offer medical examination, the cost of which will be borne by the City.
