THE CITY OF PORT HURON IS CURRENTLY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE FOLLOWING PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY:

PART-TIME CLERK (PLANNING DEPARTMENT)

This position will perform clerical duties as assigned by the Planning Department, which would be within the Code Enforcement Division and Rental Inspection Division.

Typical Examples of Work:

Assist the Department Staff you are assigned to in the following:

• Typing and data entry.
• Filing and scanning documents.
• Opening and sorting mail.
• Updating and maintaining records.
• Answer the telephone and direct inquiries.
• Scheduling of inspectors.
• Assisting with Adminstrative Hearing Bureau process.

Desirable Qualifications for Employment:

• Computer knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).
• Knowledge of BS&A Software preferred.
• Knowledge of office practices and procedures.
• Ability to prepare accurate records and reports.
• Ability to plan and organize.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Graduation from an accredited high school is required. Additional college courses preferred in business or related field.
• Current, valid Michigan Operator’s Driver License required.

Working Hours:

• 29 hours per week, Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Year-round position.

Salary Range:

• $ 14.50 to $16.00 per hour.

Benefit Package:

• Does not include a benefit package.
