General Purpose

**Please note that all Summer Camp Volunteers must be able to commit to the orientation for Summer Camp staff, on June 12, 2024**
Volunteers will have an opportunity to volunteer during the dates of June 17, 2024 to July 26, 2024.
This is a seasonal volunteer position that is responsible for assisting the Camp Counselors with camp activities and games. Work is performed under the supervision of the Youth and Adult Program Specialist.

Essential Job Functions

• Assists with all responsibilities including check-in and check-out, setting up activities, cleaning up, and any tasks conducted by a Camp Counselor.
• Works with the children or teens who may need help in understanding or performing a game or activity.
• Participates in group activities and lead by example when working with campers.
• Attends all camp-related meetings.
• Promptly informs the camp staff and/or Site Supervisor of any serious problems that may arise.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Must be at least 16 years old
• Prior experience working with children and/or teens is a plus

• Knowledge of activities enjoyed by children and/or teens.
• Ability to listen and follow directions.
• Ability to set an example for campers to encourage cleanliness, sharing, clean up and sportsmanship.
• Ability to accept responsibility as well as praise or criticism if warranted.
• Ability to communicate well with children, young adults and employees.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in hot, humid or rainy weather.
• Majority of the day will be spent outside in hot weather.
• Must be able to walk, run, jump, kneel, and bend and reach in order to participate in games.
