The Specialist I's are responsible for performing work collecting and disposing of trash and debris at public beach accesses and their parking lots. Work also includes removal of marine debris and trash; and other duties as assigned. The Specialist l's are also expected to assist and support the other department divisions and programs.

Work requires frequent physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking, bending, or similar activities and recurring lifting of heavy items of 25-50 lbs.
