Are you an experienced property appraiser looking for a challenging role that allows you to work independently and make a meaningful impact? The City of Novi is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Commercial/Industrial Appraiser to assist in the administration of our real and personal property assessment program.
As part of the Assessing team, you will have the opportunity to appraise a variety of commercial and industrial properties. You will work closely with our Assessor to ensure the accuracy of our property assessment rolls, plat maps, and other records. You will also compile and evaluate real estate sales data, assist property owners and real estate agents, and be proficient in computer usage, including spreadsheets, word processing, and appraisal software. Successful Commercial/Industrial Appraiser candidates will have comprehensive knowledge of property tax laws and regulations, as well as excellent communication and presentation skills. You'll also need to be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions, traveling to different locations within the city, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
To be a Commercial/Industrial Appraiser, you must possess at least a high school diploma with four years of experience, an Associate's Degree is preferred. You must also possess an MCAO certification or higher.

Compensation & Benefits: $77,237, per the collective bargaining agreement. $79,973.05 in 6 months, $80,650.39 at 1 year.
