Job Overview:
The City of Nichols Hills is looking for a part-time Information Systems Technician to join the team. As an Information Systems Technician, you will be responsible for providing assistance to different departments, such as Administration, Dispatch, Police, Fire, and Public Works, with any hardware and software issues. Your duties will include repairing computers, servers, and computer peripherals; creating and deploying system images; managing network infrastructure; supporting and maintaining various radio and telephone technologies; deploying critical updates and firmware; and managing and testing backups of critical systems operated by the City. Experience with VMware and managing virtual environments is a plus.
To qualify for this position, you should have an Associate’s degree in a related field or a Vocational/Technical degree with training emphasis in computer hardware/software operations, along with two years of experience with computer operations, hardware/software/network maintenance/repair, PC troubleshooting, network administration, and system administration. Alternatively, you can have an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities. You must also submit to fingerprinting, a security background investigation, a drug screening, and a physical exam.
The starting hourly rate for this position ranges between $27.87 to $29.86 DOQ. Please note that this is a part-time position, and no benefits will be provided.
