City of New Orleans is Hiring a Taxicab Administrator Assistant Near Orleans, LA

The City of New Orleans dept. of Public Works is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Taxicab Bureau Administrator Assistant. This role is crucial in supporting the administrative functions of the Taxicab Bureau, ensuring efficient operations, and providing exceptional service to the public and our team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervisory inspectional and law enforcement work assisting the Taxicab Bureau Administrator in maintaining legal safety standards in the operation of taxicabs and other public hired motor equipment
  • Provide information and support to taxicab drivers and companies regarding regulations, compliance requirements, and application procedures.
  • Process applications and renewals for taxicab licenses and permits, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Maintain and update databases, ensuring all records are current and properly archived.
  • Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and other documents as required by the Bureau’s management

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.*
  • Four (4) years of responsible supervisory and administrative experience, two (2) of which must have been either inspectional, training, or enforcement experience relating to the for-hire vehicle industry

* Prior to appointment, the hiring agency is required to verify education claimed by the applicant to qualify for this classification. If selected for hire, applicants must provide original documents of their qualifying credentials to the hiring agency prior to their start date in this job classification.
