The City of Neenah, Wisconsin is currently accepting applications for a Part-Time Cashier position. The City is seeking a candidate with excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and a focus on continuous improvement in order to serve a community of about 27,000 residents.

The Part-Time Cashier performs a variety of cash handling, clerical, communications, bookkeeping, and administrative support duties under the direction of the Assistant Treasurer.

Responsibilities:

• Collects funds due the City from property taxes, utility bills, license/permit fees, library revenues, park and recreation activities, parking fines, special assessments and other sources.
• Issue pet licenses, fire permits, annual boat launch parking permits, parking permits along with proper completion of corresponding paperwork.
• Maintain cemetery records in accordance with current state laws.
• Reconcile cash drawer daily. Prepare daily cash bank deposit, cash receipt batch reconciliation and post daily cash receipts.
• Review of outstanding parking tickets and personal property tax for City Clerk's annual issuance of licenses.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two years cash handling experience
• Excellent customer service
• Excellent computer skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate's degree and/or advanced education in accounting/finance and working knowledge of computer-based account systems is preferred.

Schedule:

• This is a part-time position working 25 hours per week.
• The schedule for this position varies with City Hall hours and will be discussed during the interview process. City Hall hours are weekdays traditionally between 7:30 AM and 4:30 PM.

Compensation and Benefits:

• The hourly rate for the position begins at $20.66 based on previous experience.

• Paid vacation, sick, and holiday pay as well as automatic enrollment in Wisconsin State Retirement (WRS).
• This position is not health insurance eligible.
