City of Missouri City is Hiring an Economic Development Manager Near MISSOURI CITY, TX

This is a full-time position in the City's Economic Development. An individual in this position performs a variety of professional administrative functions related to Economic Development including coordinating a pro-active development engagement initiative. Directs and manages economic development activities including the management of high-profile development projects and direct recruitment of business prospects at the local, national and international level. Prepares and implements policies and programs relative to economic development initiatives.

Reporting relationship: Economic Development Director.

Manages economic development recruitment and retention projects, revitalization and redevelopment efforts. Serves as project manager for advanced projects and assignments.
Develops and implements programs, policies and plans relative to the economic development of the City.
Implements and monitors contract compliance and deliverables of economic development contracts and requirements.
Coordinates with community partners on recruitment and retention of businesses, including negotiations, resolution of infrastructure, creation and execution of contracts, and presentation to the City Council and appropriate boards.
Develops long-range economic development plans and programs to meet needs of the community. Directs and participates in development of new and existing business/industrial parks through both public initiatives and public/private partnerships.
Supports various development-related community stakeholders and assist in developing strong and close working relationships with the same.
Acts as a departmentally-neutral, project facilitator to be accessed by and for Missouri City development stakeholders.
Coordinates special events and activities including a developer's showcase and forums, targeted community tours, annual development awards, etc.
Researches and prepares reports on current departmental projects, activities and operations. Conducts sophisticated and highly technical research and analysis on various aspects of the community.
Provides information and/or make presentations and conduct meetings to appropriate audiences on economic development issues, programs, services, and plans.
Performs other related duties as assigned;
Subject to 24 hour recall.

Bachelor’s Degree in Economic Development, Public Administration, Business Management, Real Estate, Urban Planning, or related field and three (3) years of economic development experience. An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience may be considered.
