The Kids Corner Program leader plans, organizes and leads activities for a group of 25, 6-10 yr olds at Williston Fitness Center. Leaders will provide daily activities including sports, arts and crafts, group games, outdoor activities, etc. Staff and kids will also go on one field trip per week. The summer season is June 10th to August 16th. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday during the day, part-time hours, between the hours of 8am-5pm. Program ends at 4pm on Fridays!

• Must be able to complete program prep work starting in Mid-May.
• Must attend staff training prior to program start. 1st week in June but subject to change.
• Lead and supervise arts & crafts, swimming, group games, sporting activities, weekly field trips and more.
• Required to be physically active while on duty and participate in all group activities with the participants.
• Enforce all policies, rules and regulations established by the Kid's Corner Coordinators, Program Manager and Hopkins-Minnetonka Recreation Services.
• Ensure that safety precautions are taken in all activities.
• Be familiar with and carry out emergency and accident procedures.
• Set up and clean up activity area including building and grounds.
• Supervise participants using positive discipline while maintaining an informal, orderly and safe atmosphere.
• Must be available for entire season with limited time off.
• Additional duties as assigned by Program Manager.

• A commitment to and belief in the organization's shared values.
• Must be at least 16 years of age or older.
• At least 1 year of experience working or volunteering with children.
• At least 6 months of leadership experience, preferably with kids.
• Creativity in developing and implementing recreational activity ideas for youth.

• At least 1 year of direct leadership experience with kids.
• High school degree or equivalent GED completed
• Completed coursework in elementary education, recreation or related field.
