Working as the Climate and Natural Resources Manager in Milwaukie will give you the chance to focus your expertise and efforts on a field that combines science, engagement and creativity to address one of the most pressing challenges of our time. As the world grapples with the consequences of global warming, there is a growing need for innovative solutions to mitigate its impact and transition towards a more sustainable and equitable future. This position is focused on making a positive impact on our community, region and planet and offers the opportunity to transform the way we live, work, and interact with the environment. Future projects and opportunities include working collaboratively with regional and community stakeholders on building decarbonization, electric green tariffs, multifamily and rental property energy disclosure, development of community EV charging infrastructure and protecting, preserving and growing our urban forest canopy and protecting our surface waters.For more information, please refer to the published Climate and Natural Resources Manager job classification.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Develops programs and projects that support the city’s climate action plan and develops climate related policyDevelops programs and projects that support the city’s Urban Forest programManages the surface water environmental compliance programsEngages with the community on climate, urban forestry, environmental compliance and natural resources related programs and presents information to City CouncilProvides support for the development of the city’s natural Resources programsManages the city’s natural resources team.

The starting pay assignment, based on an analysis of the successful candidate's related experience and education as documented on the employment application in accordance with the city's pay equity policy and the Oregon Equal Pay Act, would be no higher than $9,942 per month.
