City of Midland is Hiring a Senior Economic Development Program Coordinator Near TX, TX

The Senior Economic Development Program Coordinator assists in the coordination of strategic program initiatives, with a focus on economic development projects, downtown event programming, and policies and programs aimed at strengthening the economy and enhancing the City’s quality of life and place.Typical Duties:
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of economic development projects, downtown event programming, and policies aimed at enhancing the city's economic vitality and quality of life.
  • Research and analyze economic data, market trends, and best practices to support decision-making and program development.
  • Provide support in developing and managing strategic initiatives to attract businesses, support small business development, and promote downtown vibrancy.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of downtown events and programs, including logistical arrangements, vendor management, and community engagement efforts.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, city officials, and community organizations to support economic development initiatives and downtown revitalization efforts.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and communications materials to stakeholders and senior management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Solid understanding of economic development principles, downtown revitalization strategies, and event programming.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to interpret economic data and trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software applications.
Other Job Characteristics:
May require working extended hours and weekends, and occasional driving through city traffic.Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Public Administration, or a related field, coupled with four (4) years of experience in economic development, program coordination, or related field.
Texas Class "C" Driver's License or equivalent from another state.
