Under administrative direction of the Director of Purchasing & Contracting, the Assistant Director of Purchasing and Contracting assists the Director in preparing complex and technical specifications for purchase projects and construction projects. Employee will act, with full authority, on behalf of the Director of Purchasing and Contracting in his absence. Under general direction the employee will process daily requests for purchase order, certificates for construction payment applications, and will assist in reviewing and overseeing the formal solicitation process and have knowledge with federal procurement requirements. Employee makes decisions on a daily basis, ranging from routine to complex. The employee has daily contact with other departments and the private sector, which requires courtesy, tact and diplomacy.
