city of little rock is Hiring a Code Enforcement Officer Near Little Rock, AR

JOB OBJECTIVE: To regularly inspect single and multi-family residential structures, premises and vacant lots for compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, codes, ordinances and laws; issues citations for housing and nuisance code and ordinance and parking in the yard violations.
This position is not designated as a safety/security sensitive position and is not subject to random drug and alcohol screening.

These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through completion of high school, and one (1) year of experience in housing and premise inspection OR one (1) year of experience in building construction/rehabilitation OR one (1) year of experience in housing damage assessment or related areas OR two (2) years of demonstrated customer service experience to include work experience in conflict resolution, mediation, complaint investigations or a related area and one (1) year of personal computer experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver’s License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position.
  • Must possess Citation Authority Certification within six (6) months of employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this position.
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends as required.
