BASIC FUNCTION:The Deputy Municipal Court Clerk is responsible for processing of cases in accordance withstatelawandcitypoliciesasapprovedbythejudgeandforprovidingcustomer service.
Knowledge:The incumbent must have working knowledge of the policies, procedures, functions and activitiesofaTexasMunicipalCourt.Theincumbentmustbeknowledgeableoftheproceduresusedinthe collection and reporting of cash receipts.The incumbent must be knowledgeable of the answering of incoming calls and effectively communicate with the public.
Skills:Thepositionrequireseffectiveoraland writtencommunicationskills.Additionally,theposition requires the ability to make simple arithmetic calculations, and accurately enter information into the computer system.Ability to follow oral and written instructions.Ability to accurately proofread and verify data.Must be able to type 40 WPM accurately.
Education:HighschoolgraduateorGED.
Experience:Oneyearofextensivecustomerserviceexperienceincludingcollectionofcashandgeneral clerical duties.
LicensesandCertificates:Notarylicenserequired within30daysofhiredate.TCCAClerkCertification Level I recommended within two years of hire.
