Job Brief:
Description:
Duties: Process arrested and released persons at jail or Detention Center, complete appropriate forms and related paperwork; issue clothing and personal hygiene supplies to detainees as appropriate, release property as appropriate. Maintain the safety of detainee at all times, conduct regular checks of facilities; maintain calm and order in facility; conduct cell searches, strip searches as necessary. Transport detainees to court, other police agencies, medical appointments and other appearances as necessary; release prisoners to investigators. When assigned to youth Detention Center, contact parents or detained youth and explain center policies and procedures. Serve meals and snacks to detainees.
Qualifications: No experience is required, although previous corrections experience is desirable. Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade. Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license.
