Performs a variety of tasks related to the planning and implementation of recreation programs and events.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Plans, coordinates, and facilitates a variety of recreation programs at the Hopewell Community Center and throughout the city for all ages and abilities; assists with special events as assigned; assists with patron monitoring and support at the Hopewell Community Center Plans and provides transportation for active adults, youth and events. Coordinates use of space in the Hopewell Community Center; assists with setup and break down for programs and classes; performs basic facility maintenance to assist with facility cleanlinessPrepares reports for the Recreation Programs Supervisor (Community) regarding program quality, supplies, attendance, and other necessary data pointsWorks with outside vendors for the delivery of specialty programs at the Hopewell Community Center; assists with scheduling outside vendors; coordinates supply and equipment needsActs as lead staff member of the recreation programs teamAssists the Recreation Programs Manager and Recreation Supervisors with other programs as requiredPerforms other duties as assignedAssist with the organization and implementation of special events coordinated by the Department of Recreation and Parks and other city departments; may be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and in times of emergency (activation of the city’s Emergency Operations Center).

Essential Physical Activities: Work is primarily performed in an indoor, climate-controlled, pleasant environment, however, on occasions will be assigned outdoor duties for special events/assignments.Stooping, crouching, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, hearing, seeing -up close, seeing far away, kneeling, pushing, talking, standing, fingering, repetitive motions Typical weight handled: up to 25lbs
