Under the general direction of the Cemetery Supervisor: maintains landscape areas within the Cemeteries- mows, weed whips, trims bushes, and empties trash.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. General maintenance of open areas within the cemeteries.
2. Trim shrubs, hedges, and perennials.
3. Mows and weed whips the grounds within the cemeteries.
4. Assist in seasonal clean-up.
5. Weeds flower beds.
6. Assists with burials if needed.
Other duties:
1. Assist in graffiti removal.
2. Empty trash and garbage cans.
3. Pick up litter in the Downtown Corridors
5. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
1. Must 18 or older and have a valid driver’s license.
2. Can operate or learn to operate power equipment.
3. Physical ability to lift/push/transport equipment and materials weighing up to 75 pounds.
4. Ability to periodically kneel/bend/stoop to accommodate different working positions.
Working Conditions
1. Work includes outside working conditions with frequent exposure to sun, wind, rain, and extreme temperatures.
2. Work includes exposure to fumes, dust, noise, moving objects, chemicals, and hazardous materials.
3. Work includes proximity to environmental, electrical, and equipment hazards.
This position is not eligible for benefits.
