SALARY: Seasonal Parks Maintenance Worker I $17.00/hour
Seasonal Parks Maintenance Worker II $18.00/hour
Benefits: Partially benefited. Partially benefited employees earn 1 sick leave hour for every 30 hours worked. Up to 48 hours can be rolled over per year.

FUNCTION OR PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:
The primary function of this position is to perform manual labor as directed by Parks Supervisors or Maintenance Workers. Works in all areas of park maintenance, including turf and trail mowing, ditch digging, painting, ball diamond maintenance, construction projects, trash removal, snow removal, general cleaning, and plant care to provide safety and aesthetic value to City property.
ESSENTIAL AND MARGINAL FUNCTION STATEMENTS
Essential Functions:
A. Turf Mowing
Performs daily mowing of bluegrass, working in teams, using small riding and hand-operated power mowing equipment.
B. Trail and Open Space Mowing
Performs mowing of tall coarse grasses along paths, trails and on open space sites, working in teams, using hand-operated power mowing equipment.
C. Irrigation System Repairs
Assists in the repair of irrigation systems at all irrigated sites working with and sometimes under the supervision of Parks Maintenance Irrigation personnel using irrigation hand tools.
D. Tree Maintenance
Assists in the maintenance of trees at all City-owned sites. Works with and sometimes under the supervision of Parks Supervisors or Maintenance Workers using hand and power tools associated with tree and plant care.
E. City Paths, Fences, Drainage, and Construction Projects
Assists in the maintenance of City paths, fences, drainage, and construction projects working with and sometimes under the supervision of Parks Supervisors or Maintenance Workers.
F. Snow removal
Assists with snow removal on City trails, sidewalks, and around buildings working with and sometimes under the supervision of Parks Supervisors or Maintenance Workers.
G. Trash and Recycling
Performs daily trash route duties to include removing trash and recycling bags from City receptacles, inspecting receptacles and picking up loose trash.
Experience and Training Guidelines
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities to learn to operate effectively and safely small, motorized equipment is qualifying.
Special Requirements:
Must be at least eighteen years of age.
Certificates and Licenses:
Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
Equipment Utilized:
Small riding mower, 21-inch mower, 26-inch mower, ATV with a snowplow, light-duty trucks, line trimmer, blower, aerator, sod cutter, walk behind snow blower, walk behind fertilizer spreader, and hand tools.
Contact with Others:
Requires little or no contact, except with immediate associates and/or supervisor and occasional contact with citizens.
Supervisory Requirements:
None
Hazards:
Frequently exposed to safety hazards from equipment operated, manual labor, and work in high traffic areas.
