Hiring Salary Range: $54,022-$71,087 Full Salary Range: $54,022 - $96,670 Annually
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm; Evening and weekend hours as needed based on programming/event need. On-call hours. 40 hours during the work week.
Brief Description of Work:
The Greensboro Sportsplex General Manager position presents an ideal opportunity for a creative and organized leader to manage a 106,000 sq. ft. specialized indoor sports facility boasting eight basketball courts, three volleyball courts, four indoor soccer fields, a roller hockey rink, a multipurpose room, concession stand, and two meeting rooms. In addition to serving our local community throughout the week by offering drop-in basketball, club volleyball, soccer field rentals, in-line hockey programming, and meeting room rentals, the Sportsplex also hosts local, regional, and national basketball and volleyball tournaments, as well as various special events on 45 weekends throughout the year, producing over $5 million in economic impact to the City of Greensboro annually.
Think you have what it takes? The person in the position will be tasked with meeting the various needs of our community and exceeding the expectations of our customers. The person in this position: Directs and supervises overall operations, programming, and processes at the city’s specialized indoor 106,000 sq. ft. sports facility, the Greensboro Sportsplex. Responsibilities include managing operating budgets, expenditures, and revenue collection at the facility; hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising benefited, roster and seasonal staff; performing general and specialized site and event supervision; managing large-scale competitive athletic events; coordinating overall facility maintenance and improvement plans; marketing and promoting the facility to the community and to outside groups at the amateur and collegiate levels; generating and administering short- and long-term performance contracts for programs and events; coordinating general and specific marketing, promotions, and program plans; coordinating incident resolution and risk management; assessing community demand, interest, and satisfaction in current and future programs; and developing and implementing new in-house and contracted sports programming and events.
