City of Gallup, NM is Hiring a SE YCC LABORER P/T Near Gallup, NM
Job Description Gallup Summer Youth Employment Program is a seasonal employment program for young men and women ages 16 through 25, from all segments of the community who work and learn together by completing projects of lasting benefit throughout the City of Gallup and McKinley County. YCC crew members are provided an opportunity to increase their self-esteem, learn self-discipline and develop good work ethics. They relate with peers and supervisors and build lasting cultural bridges between youth from diverse social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds. YCC crew members are engaged in fun, exciting work projects designed to develop environmental stewardship and civic responsibility such as: building and repairing trails; preserve, maintain and enhance natural resources; rehabilitate and improve cultural, historical and agricultural resources; benefit recreational areas and parks by improving their use and access; beautify, improve and restore urban areas; and renovate community facilities, including those for the elderly or indigent. YCC crew members receive safety and environmental education. Duties will include litter clean-up, recycling, brush removal, trail marking, building and maintenance of open trails and mapping/survey of existing trail system. Work involves physical and manual labor in an outdoor environment under potentially adverse weather conditions and rough terrain. Additional Information BEGINNING PAY: $13.00 P/H MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be between the ages of 16-25 years old
Must be unemployed
Must be a New Mexico resident for at least six (6) months
Must have a valid New Mexico ID card or driver's license
