This highly responsible managerial position is to ensure that the efficient operations of the Administrative Services Bureau are maintained 24-hours a day, 7 days per week. The Captain is the Administrative Service Bureau Commander vested with the authority necessary to develop and manage the strategic planning and operations of police functions during any given period of time. The Captain is proficient in the skills of management and supervision to efficiently link support and auxiliary services to the citizens of Fort Pierce and all areas of the Department. These services include Records Management, Supply handling, Building Maintenance, Extra Duty/Fleet services, Assistant Emergency Management Coordinator, Information Technology (IT), Grants, Fiscal, Crime Prevention, and Community Engagement, and the Explorer Post. At times, the Captain maybe required to perform work of a hazardous nature and to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends and holidays. Work is reviewed through staff conferences, oral and written reports, and obtained results. INTERNAL CANDIDATES ONLY
