DEFINITION:
The purpose of this job/class within the organization is to manage and lead planning projects, land development applications, and compliance with land development code. This job/class works under administrative supervision, developing and implementing programs within organizational policies and reports major activities to executive level administrators through conferences and reports.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Not all-inclusive):
Manages and reviews processes for site plan, subdivisions, and other permit application packages which assures compliance with the planning, landscaping, architectural, urban design, public safety, and engineering requirements of the City Code of Ordinances, and the Deltona Comprehensive Plan. Oversees major updates to Land Development Code (LDC); ensures compliance with all codes. Advises and assists citizens and business people to help them improve their properties consistent with city code. Conducts field inspections of development sites to ensure compliance with LDC including landscape provisions. Conducts interdepartmental/interjurisdictional guidance regarding LDC provision.

Performs related work as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Urban Planning, Zoning, Administration or closely related field. Requires four years' experience in urban planning, zoning or closely related experience.
