Position Summary
The Human Resources Risk Management and Talent Acquisition Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the day-to-day HR functions and coordination/delivery of the various programs and procedures for the Human Resources and Risk Management Department. The Specialist will primarily focus on talent acquisition and risk management but will perform generalist duties in other areas of Human Resources, as needed.

**PREVIOUS CANDIDATES DO NOT NEED TO RE-APPLYThe primary responsibilities are as follows:
- Performs full-cycle recruitment activities, including manpower planning, advertising, applicant screening, passive recruitment pools, providing guidance to hiring managers, participating in interviews, conducting background checks, participating in onboarding, etc.
- Partners with the Deputy HR Director to focus on strategic workforce planning with each Department with the goal of hiring the most qualified employees
- Coordinates safety committee meetings and may represent Risk Management at the meetings with the Deputy Human Resources Director
- Acts as the secretary to the Safety Committee and is responsible for agendas, minutes, and overall communication regarding the Committee with approval from the Deputy Human Resources Director
- Coordinates the review of Certificates of Insurance for compliance with the City broker
- Responsible to ensure the Material Safety Data Sheets are available and accurate
- Ensures Annual Reporting compliance
- Works with the Broker and in consultation with the Director on worker’s compensation and liability claims
- Perform other HR Generalist duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, or related field.
- Experience can substitute for education on a year-for-year basis; (Bachelor’s degree, plus five (5) years of human resources experience) or nine (9) plus years of related HR/Risk experience.
- Three (3) years of experience in full-cycle recruitment
- Strong HR generalist experience in areas such as talent acquisition, risk management or HRIS
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other HR-related software
