Performs a variety of unskilled or semi-skilled maintenance work and operates various equipment in the construction, operation, repair, maintenance and replacement of city water and wastewater facilities, streets, parks, and storm drain facilities.
Experience Required: None.
Minimum Education Requirements: Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent.
Direct Supervisor: Public Works Crew leader.
Supervisory Responsibility: None.
Primary Work Location: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration and wet and/or humid conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts, or in high, precarious places and is occasionally at risk of electrical shock, exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Must be able to read and write the English language.
Must be able to verbally communicate to exchange information.
Must be capable of driving a motor vehicle to travel to other locations on a frequent basis.
Must be available 24 hours for emergency call outs on a rotating schedule.
Certifications: Possession of a valid Oklahoma driver’s license.
