City Of Corona is Hiring a Senior Utility Service Worker Near Corona, CA
The City of Corona has an exciting opportunity to join our Utilities Department as a Senior Utility Service Worker. At Corona’s Utilities Department, we strive to deliver the best customer service to all of our residents and businesses, with safety and reliability as our top priorities. The Utilities Department is comprised of five divisions including Water, Wastewater, Reclaimed Water, Electric and Solid Waste. We provide a 4/10 work schedule (Mon-Thu) for most positions and rotating schedules for operations staff. Education/Training/Experience:
- Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade, supplemented by college level coursework in water science or a related field.
- Three (3) years of experience working in utility or public works-related maintenance and construction work.
- Possession of a valid California Class “C” Driver’s License, to be maintained throughout employment.
- Possession of, or successful acquisition within 6 months of appointment, a valid California Class “A” Driver’s License with tanker endorsement, to be maintained throughout employment.
- Possession of, or successful acquisition within 12 months of appointment, a valid trench and shoring certification, to be maintained throughout employment.
- Possession of, or successful acquisition within 12 months of appointment, a valid first aid and CPR certification, to be maintained throughout employment.
- Possession of, or successful acquisition within 12 months of appointment, a valid heavy equipment operator certification, to be maintained throughout employment.
- Possession of a valid Grade D3 Water Distribution Operator Certificate, to be maintained throughout employment.
- Pertinent laws, codes, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards applicable to performing utility construction, repair, and maintenance work in a public agency.
- Methods of traffic control setup
- Methods of trench shoring and confined space entry.

The selection process will consist of a review and evaluation of all applicants' qualifications. Those applicants deemed to possess the most desirable qualifications will be invited to participate in the oral interview. The City of Corona is a General Law city operating under a Council-Manager form of government.
