Individual will: be involved in leadership work at an assigned recreational area; will supervise, instruct and participate in activities; assist in organizing recreational activities; will responsible for keeping accurate attendance records; will be responsible for equipment and supplies used in the assigned area; will ensure safety of patrons and enforce rules of the facility; provide correct, courteous answers to verbal inquires; and perform other duties as assigned. Employees in this position work under supervision, and their work is subject to frequent inspection and review by supervisory personnel through conferences and attendance reports.

Applicants must: be at least 19 years of age, possess and maintain a valid Missouri Driver’s license; have the desire to work with kids of all ages; be able instruct at-risk/low income children and youth in various recreational activities; be able to assist with the planning of recreational activities; have knowledge of the principles, rules, materials and equipment required for a variety of recreational activities; have the ability to give routine instructions and resolve disputes with firmness and impartiality; be able to communicate with people of all age groups and large groups; be able to run, jump, bend and stoop to participate in athletic activities or carry supplies; attend mandatory staff meetings; follow dress code policy; have the ability to work independently; and be reliable.

Temporary/Seasonal employees do not qualify for sick, holiday or vacation pay. Pay checks are issued bi-weekly. During the school year, hours will be Monday-Friday 2:30p-7p. Additional hours may be available during the mornings, evenings and weekends. In the summers, the hours will be Monday-Friday 10a-6p.

Work hours are seasonal and flexible. During summer months, evenings are required during the week. Weekend work is a possibility.
