CITY OF CLINTON is Hiring a Police Officer I Near Clinton, SC

The City of Clinton is currently seeking several qualified applicants for the position of Full-time Police Officer I – Patrol Division. Under limited supervision, responds as needed to emergency and non-emergency calls for service as a police officer to situations such as routine patrol, routine service and emergency calls, vehicle collisions, training sessions, public relations events, and other related duties. This position’s emphasis is law enforcement.

Requirements: Requirements include, but are not limited to: (1) Applicant must be at least 21 years of age. (2) Applicant must possess and maintain a valid SC driver’s license and a good driving record. (3) Must possess a minimum of a four year high school education or GED recognized by the SC Dept. of Education or other state (4) Must be physically and psychologically able to meet the demands of the job and remain calm in stressful situations (5) Position requirements include, but are not limited to, occasional strenuous physical exertion, ability to interpret technical/legal information, good judgment, and good oral/written communication skills. (6) Work is predominately outside in a variety of climatological conditions year round. (7) Must successfully pass all pre-employment agility course (if non-certified), background screenings, physical, drug screen, psychological evaluation, and other required prerequisites. (8) This is a non-exempt position. (9) Certification as a SC Class 1 Police Officer preferred, but will consider training the right candidate. (10) This position is a Safety-Sensitive position subject to on-going random drug screening.

Starting Salary Range: $20.55/HR to $23.68/HR DOQ/DOE
