Assists and supports the Director of Community Development in administrative, technical and skilled inspection work on enforcement of the City's building codes, and related regulations and ordinances governing construction, alteration and repair. Work involves training in the responsibility for directing, coordinating, and controlling inspection of buildings and their appurtenances to assure adherence to city building, plumbing, electrical and related codes and ordinances and for adherence to applicable standards of construction, maintenance and safety. An employee in this class works on field inspections and makes decisions exercising technical judgment. This technician may consult with technical advisors on difficult and unusual cases. Work is evaluated by the Community Development Director through conferences, discussions and reports.
