NORTHWEST MISSISSIPPI COMMUNITY COLLEGE is Hiring a Plumber Near Senatobia, MS

Job Description
The Plumbing Shop operates and maintains the college's plumbing system to include (but not limited to) such things as: the campus potable water system, compressed air, natural gas, fire sprinklers, interior fixtures, outside hydrants, sanitary and storm systems, and back-flow prevention devices to meet all current codes, local and state jurisdiction requirements. The Plumber position is a 12-month staff position reporting to the Assistant Director of Construction and Maintenance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have and maintain a Valid Driver's License
  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have 2 years plumbing experience
  • Must have ability to climb and work from ladder and lift 75 pounds
  • Must be able to use shovel and work in mud
  • Must have and maintain the physical ability, positive attitude, work as a team and skills to be self directed
  • Must be able to respond to calls on nights and weekends
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  1. First responder to all plumbing request and respond to afterhours call backs on nights and weekends
  2. Provide repair and remodeling services to all campus plumbing systems as indicated
  3. Routine plumbing maintenance and preventative maintenance on all systems listed above to include, but not limited to: check and repair leaks, unstop drains, paint gas risers, clean valve boxes, check sump pumps, check basements, battery replacement in auto flushers, service AC drain pans and change filters, winterize out buildings, maintain and or troubleshoot domestic water heaters and check fire sprinklers
  4. Assist Lead Plumber on underground utility repair and new construction
  5. Help prep work sight, operate sewer machine and water pumps
  6. Manage and maintain shop equipment
  7. Learn procedures for gas and water emergencies ( location of valves, when to evacuate, when to call in other trades, location and use of emergency equipment
  8. Accompany department related outside contractors as assigned to let them in buildings, coordinate their activities with Northwest faculty and staff and help them access their work sites
  9. Report to Lead Plumber on a daily basis
  10. Any other duties as assigned by Director/ Assistant Director of Construction and Maintenance
