Job Description
Position Title: Office Assistant - Fire Marshal Bureau
Department: Charleston Fire Department
Location: CFD Station 2, 808 Virginia St. West
Number of open positions: 1
Anticipated Start Date: June 3, 2024
End Date: August 9, 2024
Hours of work per week: 35
Business/Work Hours: 8:00am - 4:00pm Monday - Friday
Pay Rate: $12 / Hour
General Description:
The purpose of this class within the organization is to implement a variety of community, recreational, cultural, special events, and other programs at City of Charleston designated facilities for youth ages 16 - 20 years of age. Program employment dates are June 3, 2024 - August 9, 2024, and may be extended based on employee availability and departmental needs.
Work hours: Maximum 35 hours per week.
This class works under close supervision according to set procedures.
Responsibilities, tasks, and projects:
Assist bureau members with planning of public safety training programs, help maintain records and databases, and other duties as seen necessary.
Perform data entry, retrieves data and produce various reports, communication with other departments.
Answer phones, greet and assist guests, and the general public.
Requires knowledge in the use of a personal computer and in the application of Microsoft Office Products such as Microsoft Word and Excel
Must work closely with Fire Marshals Office
Candidate requirements:
Must be between age 16-20 years old.
Dress Code:
Business Casual (Must be work-appropriate) no shorts, or flip-flops.
