City of Cathedral City is Hiring a PUBLIC SAFETY DISPATCHER - PART-TIME Near Cathedral, CA
- Equivalent to graduation from high school
- One (1) year of public safety dispatch experience
- Must possess California P.O.S.T. Public Safety Dispatcher Basic Certificate
- Typing speed 35 wpm
- Must be able to pass a background investigation according to POST Guidelines
- Upon conditional offer of employment, selected candidate(s) will be required to pass a physical and psychological evaluation.
- An adult felony conviction in California, or with a conviction for an offense in another state which would be classified as a felony in California
- Currently on Probation or Parole
- Adult felony and/or misdemeanor conviction(s) may be disqualifying depending on type, number, severity, and how recent
- Conviction of/or sustained petitions for any sex crime
- Recent use and/or possession of illegal drugs, weapons or explosive devices without legal authorization
- History of committing domestic violence or animal cruelty
- Dishonesty or failure to reveal pertinent information
All employment offers made by the City are contingent upon establishing proof of a prospective candidates legal authorization to work in the United States and successfully passing all components of the pre-employment process which may include, but is not limited to: comprehensive background check, criminal history check (livescan fingerprint check), polygraph examination, post-offer psychological evaluation and post-offer medical evaluation, including a drug screen.
