What will you do in this position?- Diagnose malfunctions and accomplish timely repair on all fire apparatuses.
- Conduct fire pump testing, meeting safety and operational standards.
- Inspect and repair all components of the aerial ladder and platforms.
- Perform equipment repairs, including mechanical and electrical systems, motors, and components.
What do you need to be successful in this position?- Familiar with NFPA safety standards for operations and maintenance of fire apparatus and vehicles.
- Associate's Degree in automotive or diesel technology or closely related field; AND
- Three (3) years of experience in heavy duty mechanical repair of diesel and gasoline powered equipment.
- License and Certificates:
- A valid Washington State driver's license is required
- Valid ASE T-series and Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) certification with Master Fire Apparatus Technician level certification is required.
- A Commercial Driver's License (with tanker and air brake endorsement) is required within one year of appointment.
- AC certification license is required within two years of appointment.
