Position Summary: Support the Mission, Vision, and Culture by analyzing and coordinating logistical functions for Shoes For Crews. The position should have hands-on experience in logistics, warehouse operations management, small parcels (UPS/FedEx) as well as inbound ocean freight analytics to drive data driven decisions in the Supply Chain.

Many distribution functions are executed by 3rd parties, this position must be able to manage and evaluate the vendors’ performance by constructing and maintaining metrics that reflect performance. The position must also function as an intermediary between our internal departments to our 3rd party vendors to accomplish tactical improvement projects. The candidate should be a hands-on executor that can successfully coordinate with people with different value sets and viewpoints.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Develop and track operations metrics from our contract warehouses and our small parcels carriers.
  • Conduct detailed freight studies and provide detailed analysis/recommendations using a variety of data and system sources, industry-based publications and in house standalone analytical tools to support operational and freight savings goals.
  • Review periodic performance with warehouses and small parcels carriers and develop & manage action plans for improvement areas.
  • Act as an operational intermediary/coordinator between internal departments (IT/Sales & Customer Service) and external 3rd party vendors to communicate and translate needed instructions.
  • Review daily warehouse performance metrics and provide as-needed feedback to the warehouse.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve fulfillment and logistics issues both internally and follow-up with 3rd party vendors until resolution.
  • Stay informed of logistics trends, technology advances, and apply appropriate tools in order to improve logistics processes.
  • Develop new process and document SOP's to ensure the accuracy and consistency of a variety of Inbound Transportation functions.
  • Provide fact-based analysis and recommendations based on trends and gaps in the current vendor’s network.
  • Create, Maintain, and/or modify department dashboards and analytical tools.
  • Submit period-close financial reports to the accounting team and audit financial reports and forecasts to ensure data accuracy and consistency.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Strong analytical and thinking skills and desire to learn new skills.
  • Self-Starter with a demonstrated ability to manage complex projects from start to finish
  • Experience in Financial systems / processes knowledge is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of transportation, warehousing, supply-chain execution software and third-party logistics
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation
  • Desire and ability to identify improvement opportunities
  • Must be hands-on in executing tasks
  • Accurate and professional written and verbal communication
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Driven to meet goals, generate results and overcome objectives
  • Intermediate to advanced level Microsoft office software, and MAS
