Must be 18 years of age. Preferred May 13, 2024 until August 30, 2024. Can be flexible on dates. Summer Sports Camp and Facilities Intern (SSCF) will work with Parks and Recreation staff to provide ongoing program coordination assistance, which will aid in ensuring the quality of the recreation’s summer camps and programs. In addition, position will assist staff and operations of the Strike Zone Batting Cages and other recreation facilities. This internship is an excellent opportunity for a student who desires hands-on experience with kids and sports in the recreation field. The SSCF Intern will work directly under the Recreation Specialists to assist in developing and overseeing all aspects of Summer Sports Camps. This includes but not limited to; planning, coordination, scheduling, and participating in the instruction and operations of Sports Camps. Interns should be excellent role models, positive, creative, safety-conscious, and have knowledge of a variety of sports. SSCF intern will be expected to create a camp itinerary consisting of sport-specific drills and activities for Parks and Recreation summer and fall sports programs. Furthermore, SSCF intern will help with the setup of all field equipment, help check in/out campers, provide instruction, encourage campers throughout the day, and supervise behavior. Incumbent subject to pre-employment background check and drug test.
