QUALIFICATIONS (The following are the minimal qualifications necessary for entry into the classification.)
Education/Experience: A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Possession of
an Associates Degree or higher is preferred. At least 5 years of experience in public
works parks, roadway and facilities maintenance, construction, and contract admin-
istration; wastewater system operation/maintenance; and heavy equipment operation.
In addition to at least 3 years as a lead or supervisor of related maintenance activities.
License/Certificate: Possession of a valid Class A or Class B (if Class B, ability to obtain
Class A within one year of appointment) California driver license with a satisfactory
driving record. Grade 1 Wastewater Collection System certification from CWEA, or
ability to obtain within one year of appointment.

Leave Accruals: The City offers the option of a 9/80 or 4/10 alternative work schedule,
twelve (12) paid holidays per year and generous leave accruals including: Vacation,
Sick and Personal Leave.
Retirement: The City is a member of the San Bernardino County Employees’
Retirement Association (SBCERA) which is reciprocal with CalPERS. The City’s
retirement formula is 2% @ 55 with prior qualifying public service or effective January
1, 2013 the formula is 2.5% @ 67 for new participants.
