QUALIFICATIONS (The following are the minimal qualifications necessary for entry into the classification.)
Experience: Three (3) years of increasingly responsible professional experience in
event planning, social, print and digital media, media relations, and community
outreach programs. Experience in the public sector is highly desired.
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Possession of a bachelor’s
degree in communications, marketing, public relations or a closely related field from an
accredited college/university is preferred.
License: Possession of a valid Class C California driver license or the ability to get to
offsite meetings, events and training.

Leave Accruals: The City offers the option of a 9/80 or 4/10 alternative work schedule,
twelve (12) paid holidays per year and generous leave accruals including: Vacation,
Sick and Personal Leave.
Retirement: The City is a member of the San Bernardino County Employees’
Retirement Association (SBCERA) which is reciprocal with CalPERS. The City’s
retirement formula is 2% @ 55 with prior qualifying public service or effective January
1, 2013 the formula is 2.5% @ 67 for new participants.
