Reports To: Aquatic Manager

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Front Desk Attendant will serve as a customer service representative tending to the needs of the patrons that enter or call the Memorial Outdoor Waterpark. They will serve as an ambassador for the Parks Department with a cheerful and positive attitude. They will meet and greet patrons, accept admission fees, handle money, make change, daily cash reports, answer phones as well as some facility maintenance duties. Incumbent must demonstrate a strong personal commitment to the mission and goals of the Belton Parks & Recreation Department. They must carry out their assigned responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties as assigned.

  • Greet patrons entering the facility. 
  • Sell daily passes and point of sale items. 
  • Monitor patrons with season passes to scan in their membership card.
  • Verify all starting cash funds and process z-out at the end of the shift. 
  • Maintain accurate cash handling procedures at all times. 
  • Knowledge of computer functions including computer entries of passes and cash register. 
  • Responsible for opening or closing facility and preparing for daily operations. 
  • Ensure the safety of patrons using and near the pool. 
  • Handle customer service inquiries and related problems. 
  • May need to perform cleaning in the pool area. 
  • Be completely knowledgeable of all Memorial Park programs and services to answer questions and/or channel calls to the proper administrative and support staff. 
  • Report any damage or maintenance needs to the direct supervisor immediately.
  • Assist in facility cleanliness, rental/program set-ups and clean-ups when needed. 
  • Maintain the front desk area in a clean and organized manner. 
  • Other duties as assigned by the Aquatic Supervisor.
  • Attend training sessions and meetings as needed when required. 
  • Maintain a professional image for Belton Parks and in the community. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time. 
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions. 
  • Ability to exhibit a positive approach in public contact and a calm nature in problem solving situations.
  • Ability to enforce pool entrance rules and regulations, such as pool entrance rules and regulations. 
  • Subject to working weekend and evening hours. 

Education and Experience:

  • Must be 15 years of age. This is an entry level position.
  • Previous experience in customer service preferred.
