SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Utility Superintendent, directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing the water production system by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises employees in this particular area of responsibility. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma / GED; and five (5) years of progressive related experience including two (2) years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Preferred:
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
SPECIALIZED KSA’S
Demonstrated knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Demonstrated knowledge of municipal water supply and distribution systems; wastewater collection systems; well production and ground water treatment; and their maintenance; and interpretation of engineering plans and drawings. Ability to operate the SCADA system, including the remote operation of facilities and generation of reports.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
