Essential Job Functions: Performs unskilled manual tasks involved in the maintenance, repair and rehabilitation of walkways, parks, lawns, ditches, curbs, and gutters; picks up litter and empties trash cans; mows grass, uses weed eater and edges, trims plant material; digs holes and ditches with a shovel; cleans park buildings; loads and unloads heavy and bulky objects and materials from trucks. Supervises a crew of three or four employees on a daily basis. May operate light duty equipment on relief, training or emergency basis; cleans and properly maintains tools; cleans swimming pools; bags leaves; fills out vehicle maintenance reports; replenishes supplies; maintains effective working conditions of necessary tools and equipment.

Works inside and outside in all kinds of weather; is exposed to extreme cold and extreme hot temperatures; exposure to dirt, dust, grime, noise, and the hazards of working around equipment. Must be available to work 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, works overtime when necessary.Must possess a valid Class C driver's license with a good driving record. Other state valid Driver's License equivalent to Texas Class C with a good driving record will be considered. Texas state law requires within 30 days of residency, you must possess a valid Texas driver's license. Applicant selected for hire will be subject to a background investigation and drug/alcohol screen test.
