City Of Beaumont is Hiring a Crew Leader - WU Near Beaumont, TX

Supervises and participates with work crews in the maintenance, repair and installation of water and sewer lines, connections, mains, water meters, sump pumps, manholes, fire hydrants and lift stations; receives job assignments from general foreman and plans work schedules for crew; instructs crews of job assignments; operates machinery, drives light and heavy duty vehicles, backhoe, mini excavator, flush trucks, vacuum truck, boring machines, forklift, front end loader, rodding machine, power saws, winch, pole lifting truck and uses various hand tools; distributes tools, equipment and supplies as needed; maintains necessary inventory of equipment and material on trucks, enforces safety regulations; prepares various reports and record of activities, hours worked, materials used, accidents and customer complaints; conducts vehicle and equipment maintenance; reads maps and blueprints; interacts with the public; secures work area, surveys job site and locates underground utilities. 
Other: Cross-trains with other department division. Depending on work assignment, may inspect sewer lines and manholes, operate T.V. monitor inspection equipment including truck, T.V. camera, monitor and recording equipment; may raise and lower meters; may direct in the activities of rod truck and jet truck crews in clearing stoppages; may maintain right-of-ways and easements; repair fences, culverts and landscapes. Job description statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this job title. Skills/Abilities: Ability to read and write; ability to plan, assign and supervise the work of unskilled an semi-skilled employees performing various tasks; ability to understand, follow and issue oral and written instructions; ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams and sketches; ability to make field sketches of work performed; ability to use hand tools, power tools and operate specialized equipment and machinery applicable to the job; ability to write legibly; ability to perform basic arithmetic and use a calculator.
Essential Physical Requirements: Constantly sees, hears, stands and walks; frequently pushes, pulls, lifts, carries, drags, holds objects weighing up to 100lbs; frequently, climbs, crawls, kneels, squats, stands stoops, bends, walks, drives vehicles, operates equipment; writes by hand.
Education/Experience: 
High School graduate, or equivalent, required; minimum three (3) years of experience in the operation and maintenance of light to heavy equipment; one (1) year of supervisory experience required; depending on crew assignment, must obtain either of the following licenses within twelve (12) months of employment: Class D Water Distribution License or Class I Wastewater Collection System License; advanced training/certification in water/wastewater fields preferred. Must achieve and maintain required license(s) in accordance with the issuing agency's requirements.
Other: Must possess a valid Class B/CDLwith a good driving record. Other state valid drivers license equivalent to Texas Class B/CDL with a good driving record will be considered. Texas state law requires within 30 days of residence, you must possess a valid Texas derivers license. Must acquire a Class A/CDL with a tank endorsement within twelve (12) months of employment.
