Starting Salary: $16.2624 Hourly / $33,825 Annually Pay Grade: 1170

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Under the direction of a professional staff member, performs technical laboratory work in operating a chemical and bacteriological laboratory at a major treatment plant. Technical assistance may be given to treatment plant operator personnel to ensure proper functioning of treatment facilities and equipment. An employee of this class may be on twenty-four hour call. Work is reviewed through periodic conferences or reports. Performs other work as requested.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology or microbiology, or a related field.

SUBSTITUTIONS

Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS

(Unless otherwise specified below, must possess at the time of appointment and must be maintained current throughout employment in this classification.)

Position(s) of this classification may require a valid Louisiana driver's license. If license is required, must maintain throughout employment in this position.
