This position reports directly to the Director of Code Enforcement and will be responsible for inspecting complaints that are received into the office; entering information into the iPad of findings from daily inspections; leaving notices specifying violations on the property and giving time frame to come into compliance; attending court if case goes to court; completing paperwork and notifying property owners of property needing attention; scheduling follow-up inspections on properties with issues; taking pictures of violations and downloading them into the software program; surveying the city for obvious violations, including illegal signs in right-of-ways and on telephone poles. Will be required to keep up to date on any new rules and regulations with the City on sign ordinance requirements and zoning ordinances. Performs any other duties as may be assigned by the Director. Must have good interpersonal skills, and good written and oral communication skills.

 Requires a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license, which must remain valid as a condition of continued employment. Property maintenance experience is preferred, but not required. Must pass a background and driver’s license check and a physical exam, including a drug screen. Will work in a smoke-free work environment. Bartlett resident preferred, but not required.
