Now Hiring Public Library Director of Operations The Barron Public Library seeks a dedicated and self-motivated leader to direct the operationsof their library. The person hired will work in all areas of the library. Knowledge of staffscheduling, budget, and grant writing are preferred. The applicant must have strong computerand technology skills, and should possess a positive, achievement-oriented attitude.The library serves a community of 3,700 in northern Wisconsin. The Director reports to a 7-member Board of Trustees and is responsible for overall management of the library. Essentialduties include building and maintaining our collection and programming, managing the librarybudget, supervising and scheduling the library staff, and promoting the library within the City ofBarron and the surrounding area.This position requires a bachelor’s degree. Minimum requirements include a bachelor’s degreewith a minor in Library Science and advanced public library administration coursework, or 12semester credits in the following areas: basic public library administration, advanced publiclibrary administration, organization and management of collections, and public and communityservices.
