SUMMARY OF POSITION

Performs all tasks necessary to assist persons using the facility and which make the facility more attractive and presentable. Responds to the needs and concerns of all using the facility in a courteous, informed, and enthusiastic manner. Proactively assist the team in providing a positive experience to our recreational facility customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will be performing various building operation tasks and light cleaning. Duties include:
Gym - Set up of nets and equipment, tables and chairs and cleaning, including sweeping and dusting before matches.
Rooms - Set up, cleaning, trash removal and take downs.
Other cleaning as assigned.
Assist with checking in Open Play and Youth/Family gym customers.
Cover front desk on occasion if the Facility Supervisor is called away.
Answer facility and program questions.
Monitoring and restocking restroom and locker room supplies.
Assist in securing the building at the end of the night.
Winter snow shoveling of sidewalks and building entrances/exits.
Other duties appropriate to the position and assigned by the Facility Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements:
Must be at least 16 years of age.
Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with co-workers, the public, and persons of various cultures.
Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently, multi-task, prioritize, and deal with frequent interruptions while completing day-to-day tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
Customer service experience.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Primary job functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an active setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 50 pounds).
May include work in a standard office environment that includes exposure to computer screens.
Operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This position will work at the Apple Valley Community Center.

Reliable transportation is required.

Variable-hour position, Monday - Friday between the hours of 4:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Hours outside of these times may occasionally be required. Typical shifts may vary from 4 - 8 hours.

Starting pay rate dependent on experience and qualifications.
