The Code Enforcement Officer identifies, investigates, formulates remedies, enforces, and reports designated City of Aberdeen Codes and Ordinances, parking, and false alarm violations; and performs other non-code-related duties. Serves as the City’s primary point of contact for all issues related to code enforcement and the code enforcement process.
Candidates must successfully complete the required training and probationary period and must pass a background investigation, polygraph examination, physical examination, and emotional and psychological fitness examination. As well as meeting the following requirements:
Experience in Code Enforcement or investigative work is strongly preferred.
U.S. Citizen.
High school diploma or GED required. Associate Degree in Law Enforcement or related field preferred.
Valid Driver's License or ability to obtain a valid Driver's License.
Experience with operating a personal computer and various software applications.
Proficient with word processing computer programs.
