We're seeking a motivated individual who is eager to learn, grow, and contribute to our mission of serving those in need. At The Buffalo City Mission, you'll be more than just an employee– you'll be an integral part of our dedicated team serving and providing a hand up to the most vulnerable individuals in our community. You will assist the Manager of Volunteers as well as the Director of Development & Marketing in a wide variety of tasks as needed based on the specific needs of the season and state of the mission. Tasks could fall into Development, Marketing, or Volunteer depending on need.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND TASKS

The duties and responsibilities of the position are to be carried out in a manner that is consistent with the mission, values, and operating principles of the Buffalo City Mission.

As a Development & Volunteer Assistant, you'll have the opportunity to engage in a variety of exciting tasks that will allow you to develop valuable skills and contribute to our mission. Your responsibilities will include:

• Social Media Assistance: Create compelling content and assist with the management and growth of our social media platforms to engage with our community, share stories, and spread awareness.
• Creating Internal Graphics: Design eye-catching graphics for our 3 locations, ensuring a consistent and appealing visual identity consistent with our brand.
• Learning and Operating Internal Systems: Gain hands-on experience with our internal systems to support our operations effectively. These systems include but are not limited to, our digital billboard that currently sits in from of our Community Center located at 100 E Tupper Street, A basic knowledge of television and tech set up for various events.
• Email Marketing: Assist in crafting and executing engaging email campaigns to keep our supporters and community informed and engaged with our current and upcoming campaigns.
• Data Entry: Contribute to maintaining accurate records and databases, ensuring the smooth flow of information based on the needs of the departments you’ll be assisting.
• Managing Inbound Calls for Holiday Events: Provide a loving and caring experience to those that call to reserve meals for our yearly Turkey & Hambone Express meals.
• Assisting with Managing volunteers and their events

Additional Responsibilities:This role also offers the potential to include the following responsibilities as needed.

• On-Boarding of Volunteers: Play a vital role in welcoming and training volunteers, fostering a positive and collaborative culture and relationship.
• Oversee Donation Drives: Help organize and manage donation drives happening in our community.
• Engage the Community: Represent the Buffalo City Mission at tabling events and community activities, fostering connections and raising awareness.
• Assist with Promotional Materials: Contribute to the creation of promotional materials that effectively communicate our mission and impact.
• This list is not intended to be exhaustive. As such, candidates may be required to complete other tasks as needed by the Development, Marketing and Volunteer departments.

Skill Enhancement:Our Development & Volunteer Assistant will have the exciting opportunity to expand their skillsetin a variety of fields including but not limited to…Volunteer Management • Photography• Videography• Social Media Management• Customer Management Platform• Public Relations• Commercial Marketing & Branding• Fundraising

Requirements:• Available to work 2-3 days per week, with preference given to candidates with Monday, Wednesday, and Friday availability.• Currently be walking out a mature relationship with Christ.• Possess a valid driver's license and personal vehicle, as the use of a personal vehicle to travel between worksites or other locations is a primary job duty.
