Founded in 1988, by PISD school counselor Nancy Boyd, and educator Kay Goodman, what began as a 6-bed teen shelter has grown into a 48-bed multi-faceted agency that includes a children’s emergency shelter, three transitional living homes, free individual & family counseling services, street outreach, and a Youth Resource & Community Outreach Center.

Serving Collin & Dallas County and the majority of North Texas, the mission of City House is to provide emergency shelter, transitional residential living and street-outreach programs and services to at-risk children, youth and young adults (newborn to 24 years) who are in need due to abuse, neglect or homelessness, with a special focus on supporting the unique experiences of LGBTQ young people.

Who you are:

The Donor Relations Coordinator plays a vital role in cultivating and stewarding relationships with donors to support the mission and programs of City House. This position is responsible for managing donor communications, donor database, acknowledgment processes, and engagement strategies to ensure a positive donor experience and foster long-term philanthropic partnerships. The Donor Relations Coordinator collaborates closely with the development team to execute fundraising initiatives, donor events, and stewardship activities, contributing to the organization's overall fundraising success and sustainability.

What you will do:

· Cultivate positive relationships with donors, volunteers, board members, and community partners, fostering a culture of philanthropy and engagement across diverse stakeholder groups.

· Schedule and facilitate donor meetings and site tours, to produce productive conversations and interactions.

· Draft, edit, and personalize donor correspondence, including thank-you letters, acknowledgment emails, impact reports, and solicitation materials, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency in messaging.

· Coordinate donor recognition efforts in collaboration with the development team and other relevant departments.

· Maintain donor databases and records, updating contact information, gift details, and communication preferences to ensure data accuracy and compliance with privacy regulations.

· Coordinate in-kind donations.

· Support the work of the Director of Development, and the development team, with special events and additional fundraising activities as needed.

· Represent the organization at public speaking engagements, including community events, conferences, and meetings, to promote awareness of our mission, programs, and initiatives.

· Assist in other activities assigned by CEO and/or Director of Development.

Requirements

What you bring to the position:

· High School Degree or equivalent required, some college or college degree preferred.

· One year’s relevant experience preferred.

· Previous experience in donor relations, fundraising, customer service, or nonprofit administration preferred.

· Strong people skills and ability to build rapport with diverse individuals and groups.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and professionalism.

· Proficiency in donor database management systems, CRM software, and Microsoft Office Suite.

· Knowledge of fundraising best practices, donor stewardship principles, and ethical standards.

· Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines under pressure.

· Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed for events and donor engagement activities.

· Provide evidence of negative TB testing as per requirements.

· Submit to a criminal background check, FBI background check, and DFPS background check as required by regulatory agencies.

General Agency Requirements:

· Reports immediately any suspected child abuse/neglect of a child.

· Sets a high standard of professional, technical, personal conduct and competence for subordinate personnel.

· Emphasizes safety to keep employee injury to a minimum.

· Have a current Texas Driver’s License.

Minimum Physical Requirements:

· Ability to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods during events.

· Capacity to lift and carry event equipment, supplies, and materials weighing up to a certain weight (e.g., 25-50 pounds).
