CITY BRUNSWICK is Hiring a Building Monitor Near Brunswick, OH

General Purpose

Responsible position that insures the safety and welfare of all patrons while using the
Brunswick Recreation and Fitness Center.

Supervision Received

Works under the immediate supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and the general supervision of the Recreation Superintendent.

Supervision Exercised

All patrons using the Brunswick Community Recreation and Fitness Center and all staff on duty.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for enforcing all Brunswick Recreation and Fitness Center rules and regulations.

Insures that personnel, programs, facilities and equipment are operating in a safe and efficient manner.

Responsible for assisting with the cleaning and maintenance of all areas in the Brunswick
Recreation and Fitness Center.

Assists with programs when needed.

Promotes positive public relations.

Handle emergency situations.

Open and/or close the facility.

Peripheral Duties

Employee may be asked to perform other duties based on the business needs of the City.

The employee may be asked to work holidays.

Desired Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have a High School diploma or GED equivalent.

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to effectively enforce safety and health regulations; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other agencies, participants, instructors and the general public; Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
Ability to give and understand oral instructions; Ability to be part of a cohesive recreation team; Ability to work with and direct people; Ability to work independently; Ability to supervise all ages. Must be dependable with the ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings as necessary and scheduled.

Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet while in the office, and moderately loud when in the field. The position may also require travel for the purpose of attending training workshops.

Pay: $10.10 - $17.00 per hour
