We aim to enhance our community's strength and improve our citizens' quality of life through high-quality programs, services, and facilities.The Tourism Division markets Citrus County as a four-season destination in order to generate positive economic impact within the County and its communities and enhance quality of life for all its residents.The Destination Experience Specialist performs a cross-functional role that supports Discover Crystal River and Citrus County Tourism media relations and business development with the coordination of destination familiarization tours and destination experiences for guest visiting the County’s Welcome Center. Works with internal teams and partners, including external public relations firms to deliver detailed itineraries, making complex logistical decisions, and arranging/allocating a team of FAM Hosts to a year-round calendar of visits. This role will develop into a destination product expert and have responsibility to build itineraries that will have long-lasting impact on the growth and yield of tourism revenues into the destination. Supports our welcome center experience and engagement with guests.The schedule for this full-time position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This position is located at the Visitors Center in Crystal River, Florida.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Drives and/or operates a county vehicle or equipment and must obey all safety policies, and roadway rules and laws.Integrates content and experiential storytelling into media and travel trade itineraries.Coordinates familiarization tours by creating itineraries for media/trade representatives and serves as host for participants, as needed.Manages communications with destination partners on all relevant FAM tour and Destination Experience opportunities.Develops and maintains CRM/CMS database of tourism destination partners and media contacts.Serve as liaison between clients, partners, and vendors.Coordinates destination partner listings through CRM portal.Represents Visitors Bureau at educational events and promotional trade shows.Uses partnerships with hotels, restaurants, attractions, retailers, tour operators and other viable stakeholders to execute custom experiences for FAM tours and individual guest experiences.Creates content for annual visitors guide as well as website/social channels.Enhances local engagement and visibility through Partners In Tourism events and outreach programs. Must be flexible and able to work occasional evenings, weekends, and travel overnight.Performs other duties as required.
